So Important to Me

Landon is a sweetheart. Quite often he'll tell me he loves me and give me a big hug and kiss. And on a few of those sweet occasions he has said,
"Mom, I love you so much. You're so important to me."
It just makes me melt inside and I forget that he just took a half hour to take one bite of dinner, and I forget that he missed when he used the bathroom, and I forget all the other things that I thought were more important at the time. All I think about is the sweet little face looking at me and telling me that I am the most important thing to him. :)

Grandkids Photoshoot

Grandma Harris wanted some new pictures of the grandkids to hang in her house. So, instead of attempting a group shot...which is always interesting, she asked me to do individuals.

I love this one of Kate, so cute and playful.

I think this one of Adam is one of my best pictures so far. Loooove those eyes!
Amber asked me to do some blessing pictures of sweet Lily.

DI Finds

Growing up we had some sweet games that we played. One was pathfinder, which I would love to find. The other that we played most often, because it allowed for more than two players, was Probe by Parker Brothers. Nate and I hit the American Fork DI on Saturday and I happened to browse through the game section and to my surprise and excitement they had this game! All the pieces were there and it was only $2.00!! I'm super excited to have it. So, if anyone is feeling like a game of Probe, even if it's just for old times sake, let me know! :)

Our other find was this sweet little footstool that opens for storage. I am going to attempt to recover it. Wish me luck. If I end up making a mess of it, it was only $5.00. If it turns out super awesome, it was only $5.00! :)

Practice . . . and Adobe Lightroom

So, after being inspired by Kelley Ryden, I decided to attempt my own natural light photos in our dining room by our french doors. It was a little overcast so the lighting still wasnt perfect, but okay. The pictures turned out a little dark, but in Lightroom I was able to correct the exposure and apply these cool antique overlays. Lightroom is almost funner than taking the pictures. :) Here's a sample of a picture before and after Lightroom edits.

My beautiful baby, Sawyer.

My new, ok only -- so far, favorite photographer!

I found this photographer's blog doing some surfing today.
Kelley Ryden or on Flickr
All I can say is Wow! She is amazing. I would love to learn how to capture these sweet babies and children like she does. So, much to learn....
What's even more amazing is that she shows pics of how she sets up her studio, which looks sooo simple, it almost makes me feel like I could do it. :)

Anyone feel like being guinea pigs, let me know!

Preschool Graduation

Landon and his cousin Katelyn have been attending Paula Peay's Preschool. She is an awesome teacher and has done a wonderful job. When Landon first started, he didn't want to go to school. Now he says he'll miss school and is so excited to start kindergarten. Thanks Mrs. Peay!
Here are a few highlights from their graduation program.

Muumuu Quilt

Yes, it's true. I actually finished the top to my mom's muumuu quilt! I had to make some adjustments to the pattern, but I think it turned out pretty cute.
