Landonese

As some of you know, Landon has a large vocabulary, but even so he sometimes has a hard time finding just the right word, so . . . he makes up his own. Here are a few that he came up with not too long ago.
yaunkey: used in the sentence - "my face is yaunkey" meaning "I have food on my face."
crynkey: chunky. used in the sentence - "My mac and cheese is all crynkey."
cloggy: bunched up. Used mostly in reference to his socks: "My socks are all cloggy." This is his most used word.
Anywho, our little smarty pants is a hoot. We sure love having him around!

All Home

Yes! Sawyer came home on Friday the 18th! Yeah! We are so excited to have our whole family home safe and sound.
Baby Sawyer is doing great. He came home with a clean bill of health and we are so glad. He went in for his two week check-up yesterday and has already gained a pound since he's been home. Hurray! He is such a good baby. Even at the hospital the nurses always said how good he was. He rarely cries and when he does it's just a single waaa. :)

Halfway Home

I came home from the hospital Friday evening! Woohoo. It's nice to be home after being there for so long. I'm feeling much better, still sore and I have bad moments, but lots better for the most part.
We've been going back and forth to the hospital to feed baby Sawyer three times a day so far. He's doing really well. They hope to have him off the IV by Tuesday and after that they'll work on getting him in a bed without a warmer and on more feedings till he's only being nursed (right now they alternate nursing with the feeding tube).
He's such a little cutie. He makes the funniest faces. I'll get some new pictures uploaded as soon as I can.

Baby and Me

I finally got to hold our sweet baby. Yesterday, the day Sawyer was born, I was so sick and groggy from all the pain killers that I only got to see him, not hold him. He's so cute and little. :) We're starting feedings today, and hopefully he'll catch on quick so he can come off his IV, and feeding tube. I'm doing much better today: I feel mostly normal and I am finally not hooked up to anything and should get to eat normal food tonight. :)

Sawyer J Harris

11:45 am

We finally decided on a name. We have chosen Sawyer J Harris. We chose the middle initial because Lori's middle name is Jeanine. Sawyer is doing well today, they inserted a feeding tube this morning and Lori will try to feed him at 1:30. He looks great and we are hoping to get some good pictures of him.

Our boy!

The boy with no name.

5:45 pm

After a long day Lori was feeling well enough to see our little boy. And to our surprise he was breathing on his own. Lori was still feeling a bit woozy so I was able to hold him. With all the different things that were going on earlier I didn't realize how much hair he had. Lori and I are hoping it will be curly! We got a smile out of the little guy right after Lori threw up. I thought it was hilarious, Lori didn't feel the same. We could have taken some great pictures while we were up there but I forgot to charge the battery in the camera. It's charging now so hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures posted later. We still haven't decided on a name. All I know is that Nathan Ronald Harris Jr. is defiantly not going to be an option. Oh well the world probably wouldn't be able to handle two of us. Stay tuned by the end of the night this boy will have a name.

6 lbs 5 oz

11:45 am

The wait is finally over the Lori Harris boy ( this what our boy is currently being called) came into the world at 4:30 am this morning. He weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and was 17 inches long. He is currently in the NICU. He is breathing on his own but has a high respiratory rate. He looks real well and seems to be doing fine under the circumstances.
Lori made it through the C-section just fine and is anxious to get out of bed and go see the baby. We haven't decided on his name but I'm still holding out for, Nathan Ronald Harris Jr! Well update you as the day goes on. Thanks to all those who have given us help and support over the last few weeks.

Baby Update

Alright, so here I am, still in the hospital. They actually sent me home on Saturday around 11:00am but I came back in late that night around 3:00am with more big bleeding, so I am officially here to stay.
The official update is that at 37 weeks (about April 21) I will have an amniocentesis to determine if the baby's lungs are developed. If that test is positive they will deliver me. Unfortunately, because of the bleeding and the complications it can cause with normal delivery, I'll have to have a c-section. That doesn't excite me, but it's for the best.
So, pray that all will go well with the test and that we can deliver this baby soon after it!
This means that we have to endure about two and half more weeks of this hospital stay. Landon and Nate are hanging in there. Landon keeps busy with Grandma and Aunt Amber and Aunt Megan. Nate keeps way too busy with work, school, and finals coming up. Needless to say, May will bring much needed relief from all the stresses in our life right now.
Thanks again for everyone's help and support!
